Open city Illusidum shows fps of about 20-40 generally, no path grids and NPCs yet. Whereas ventara shows 2-12 roughly. The meshes are optimized and there isnt much more detail really. Any ideas of how to troubleshoot.

Truant: Ive had a look at some of the meshes and there are literally thousands of faces that could be reduced and in some cases removed (some of the house have an underneath!!) I am going to work my way through them today, stripping away the unneccesary and replacing pillars that have in some cases forty or fifty vertices where they shoul have about 8 at most. Once they are done I will re-pack and send them.

Ok, I found that the majority of the houses in Ventara are LC01, LC01B with pillars. These meshes were about 500KB in size. I have reduced each of them to 160KB by stripping down the pillars and reducing some other meshes, removing some entirely and doing a different collision system. My framerate has risen by 5-10 in some places! Thats up from 2-12 to 8-17 ish. I'm using fraps to radar some other places. I didnt realise I had dropped a house in the middle of a couple of houses which was a bit silly, the one that looks to be sunken next to a sandpit. I must have been drunk when I messed with that one. The villa in the centre is about 860kb which is enormous, so I am going to try to strip that down too. Anyway try these: http://www.4shared.com/file/95588988/70 ... acers.html

The link appears to be invalid. I searched for mesogea.rar and redownloaded but it looks the same as the last one.

Hang on I have done some more meshes anyway, a couple more Ventara meshes I have been able to strip down considerably. I will replace them asap.

It's still telling me the link is invalid. When I search for 'mesogea' all I come up with is the same .rar I dl'd last time.

I will try this one last time before giving 4shared the cold shoulder. This contains replacement meshes for meshes/architecture/mesogea/hollowerclass and one villa2.nif for meshes/architecture/mesogea The villa is less than half the size it once was! The others are considerably smaller and should hopefully imrprove the framerate a little. transfers.rar

Im working on some more of these, and of course the internal mesh for the barracks. If there is anything specific you need me to do at any time just shout up and I can concentrate on those to get them to you quickly.
Ive had a PM from another modeller who says he wants to get involved but has another project that is a couple of weeks from completion. Still keep getting the occasional message over at TES forum asking when the mod will have a quest attached to it. I think we were going to use Ventara as the first quest location. Im going to post at TES for someone maybe to take on one of the Karithian locations so we can use that too.

A quick update on the framerate for Ventara. I did a sweep with fraps and found that the worst area of Ventara is away from all of the houses! I think it may be the number of animals wandering outside the walls and also the grass. Apparently grass can reduce framerate considerably. Illusidum uses the same meshes. The wealthy part of Illusidum contains large houses but low poly count and hardly any grass whatsoever. It is surrounded by water for several cells in any direction and framerate in this area is about 35-45. Moving into the slums it drops to between 20 and 25 sometimes when transitioning between cells it can plumment to about 8 or 9 then quickly recovers. This is the same in vanilla when wandering the countryside. The difference between Ventara and Illusidum are wild, spawning animals and grass, and water. It might be an idea to re-do the landscape around Ventara to make it more rocky but less animal and grass rich. No grass textures should help considerably.
