When the original Karithian tribes crossed the sea from what will become North Africa they split into two groups. The warlike nomadic desert Karith and the coastal Karith.
The coast is a mix of arid, desert, semi arid and lush. The coastal Karith are as civilised and as advanced as any other civilisation however their preference for tribal rule holds them back. They are accomplished sailors, excellent swimmers, traders and warriors. Less warriors than their desert cousins, they have no hatred or mistrust of magic, but consider the use of magic during trade as underhand and a sign of a weak merchant.
They share the physical attributes of their desert cousins but have more of a tolerance of temperatures. They can manage quite well in the desert if neccesary. They are good communicators.
Over the millenia they will take their ships further and further east where finally as the Eastern Holorian Empire collapses they will settle in the Levant and become the Phoenicians.
