I was pointed this direction when I posted on the bethesda forums that I was looking for work. Instantly I was intrigued because I had been thinking about doing something similar to this for a while. I would LOVE to help out and I have plenty of time, energy, creativity and resources at my disposal. Just tell me what I can do for you and I'll jump right on it.

About me:
I do have a lot of free time but I tend to use it for other things, however I'd be willing to spend quite a bit of time working on this. I've been modding for about a year, but I still have a lot to learn. I don't know too much about scripting and some little things I still have trouble with, but where my main skill lies is design and writing. I love designing new places, characters and things. I always put a lot of thought into it and kind of evolve it in an in-character way. Say if I were building a town first I ask "Why would a town be here?" I then answer that with a bit of backstory... say... it was an imperial outpost. Well then I'll add imperial architecture and generally build the outpost first, then the town around it in a logical fashion. Everything I do has history and flavor to it.

In the past I've done a lot of 3d modeling and animating using 3ds Max. I'm a little rusty and have never exported for Oblivion but I'd be willing to reinstall and try my hand at it if the need arises.

I'm also an experience voice actor who has done quite a bit of online machinima and local work for friends. Along with voice acting I am currently writing a book so as I mentioned earlier, writing is one of my strong points.

What I'd be interested in most is working on any northern barbarian tribes or anything as one of my interests is viking history and norse mythology (along with mythology in general) and I'd love to add a bit of good old Norse influence into the game. Of course I'd be glad to help with anything else and I'll do voice acting for anyone.

Other things I would be interested in are any realism or immersion things, perhaps things to do between adventures, working on any races as well.

Voice wise, I have kind of a bass voice but I can do just about any voice or accent.

Let me know where I'm needed!

Saesh,

Wow your versatility should be very useful :P . If you're interested in designing check out the land claim area, and work on staking a claim. One of the reasons I love Mesogea is because thekarithian basically gives a canvas and lets you express yourself (within reason). Just talk to him about any ideas you have and he should be able to set you down the right path.

We definitely need voice actors. I currently am one and can send you some samples if you need some ideas on how I interpreted the accents, otherwise check out the audio development section.

Welcome Saesh, Darin says it all pretty well. Sounds as if you have a large repetoire of skills and all of them will be very useful here.

Truant has just sent me his updated version of Ventara so that town is just about ready for NPC's. However Ventara is very much a Mediterranean town so to speak. If you are interested in Northerness there is huge scope. As youve probably gathered by now Mesogea is a totally made up place, straight off the top of my head from 1991 onwards, with bursts of writing for a few years, then a break, then writing again. It began with little Mediterranean interest as more of a Norse story, then diversified (much of it when I developed an interest in Rome and much more so when I started my degree in archaeology and classical studies - part time as I work full time anyway.)

Mesogea doesnt entirely exist in my head, thankfully, I wrote lots of it down so there is plenty of info to draw from and I will post more of it now I think about it. Much of it I have decided by doing this mod, deserves to come from and exist in the heads of other people which is why I try to keep it as a fairly blank canvas. All I ask is that whenever anyone thinks about doing or adding anything they bend it into the pre history fantasy vein to keep the mod feeling as if its a jigsaw that fits together. Other than that its open season for you guys. If you do anything Norse/Saxon/Jute etc then try to come from the direction that Tolkien pretty much took regarding Middle Earth. He looked at true historical people and considered that their society sprang from something similar that had for one reason or another been almost wiped out for tens of thousands of years before coming back into existence.

Its the way I went with the Holorians, thinking, if the Romans, Greeks and Etruscans had a shared ancestry what in some fantastic, fantasy way would it have been forty thousand years ago before an Ice Age destroyed it. Gives a lot of scope for making stuff up I think.

Now we can have magic and sorcery, beasts and a totally fictitious history.

So, what to do, what to do. Absolutely tonnes of stuff. If you want to do some 3d work then there is a whole route you can go down. We need northern architecture and so forth, clothes, weapons oh my :o

If you want to pick an area of the world and develop it with civilisation, settlements, NPC's etc etc then wow, you have a huge scope for this one.

Take a good look around, see what you like, where the mood takes you and let me know.
